The Eight of Swords Tarot Meaning

The Eight of Swords, like a lot of the eights in the tarot, are about trust. In the Eight of Swords, it’s about trust in the self, in your own intuition, in your own ability to see what is right and wrong.

With this card, we’re being asked to put our trust in the things we can’t see or maybe even control. We need to be able to lean into our own inner guidance system, but the Eight of Swords often represents our inability or reluctance to do this. It can symbolise our own self-created limitations and how we are allowing our negative thoughts to become our reality.

The goal with the Eight of Swords is to find a way to release yourself, to be able to put your trust in your own capabilities and to deal with negative thought patterns that can so often paralyse you in the face of progress.
