Queen of Wands Tarot Meanings

Queen of Wands Tarot Meanings

MINOR ARCANA

Queen of Wands Tarot Meanings

The Queen of Wands is a card that is true to her passion, she follows her heart and explores the full spectrum of her creativity. This card often represents someone who creates from a place of emotion, such as artists or composers. They channel their feelings into something practical in order to make those emotions tangible.

The Queen of Wands can be a very empowering card, one that puts wellbeing and her own needs first, making sure to create habits and routines that stay mindful of the internal world just as much as the external one.

Queen of Wands Upright Meanings

In the upright position, the Queen of Wands nurtures that fire energy, she makes sure that it is controlled but also has the space to burn brightly. Some of the key meanings of the Queen of Wands are:

  • Nurturing ambition

  • Emotional habits

  • Birthing creativity

  • Confident in sexuality

The Queen of Wands is the water of fire, the nurturer of creativity and passion. With that in mind, we can take all the things that fire energy represents in the wands e.g. power, action, creativity and energy, and imagine nurturing those things, encouraging them and giving them the perfect environment to thrive and that equals the energy of the Queen of Wands.

Queen of Wands Reversed Meanings

In the reversed position, the Queen of Wands takes on the trickier aspects of that emotional fire energy. Some of the main reversed meanings of the Queen of Wands are:

  • Bossy

  • Domineering

  • Hot-tempered

  • Jealous

  • Insecure

  • Selfish

The Queen of Wands in reverse is someone that turns their emotional reactions up to 11. Irrational thinking and impulsive actions become the norm and that fiery energy starts to spiral out of control.

Reading Queen of Wands in a Tarot Spread

When the Queen of Wands appears in a spread, it can often be a sign to embrace the creative energy that is trying to break free, but sometimes it may be that those more unstable properties are getting in the way of progress.

In order to determine whether the Queen of Wands is there to support or warn you of your actions and behaviours, take a look at the other cards around her and see which way she’s facing. If she’s looking towards the other cards, then she is collaborating with that card’s energy. If she is facing away from the other card, it could be that her energy is in conflict with the other card.

Queen of Wands as An Invitation

When the Queen of Wands shows up as an invitation, we are encouraged to nurture that fiery energy inside of us. To embrace bursts of creativity, to find comfort in authority and power.

For Queen of Wands, this invitation could be the following:

  • An invitation to see your ambition as an asset and nurture it so it can grow

  • An invitation to check on your emotional habits and make sure they are in your best interest

  • An invitation to embrace sexuality

  • An invitation to review insecurities and start to work through them

Queen of Wands as Sage Advice

The advice given by the Queen of Wands often revolves around knowing and understanding your fire energy. It helps us figure out when to relax and let go and when to check-in and assess negative behaviours.

Some advice Queen of Wands may offer is:

  • Giving life to a creative idea is a messy process, but don’t let that deter you from getting stuck in and allowing a bit of chaos to rule for a short time

  • There’s a difference between being bossy and being a boss. Don’t allow yourself to tip too far into self-importance when taking the lead

  • Taking care of our emotional health is just as much a practical task as it is a mental on

Queen of Wands as a Lesson

The Queen of Wands is the mother figure of the wands, so she can teach us a lot about compassion and intuition when it comes to our own power and creativity.

Some lessons that Queen of Wands may offer you are:

    • A lesson in creating habits that take care of your wellbeing while also allowing you room to play and channel your passions in a healthy way

    • A lesson in dominance and what dominance looks like in your own actions

    • A lesson in ambition and how to feed it enough to grow, but also keep it grounded

    • A lesson in dealing with insecurities and how to work through them

Queen of Wands as a Redirection

If the Queen of Wands comes to redirect you, it often means that you are allowing that fire energy to take too much of a lead in the situation. There is a need for a more emotionally connected approach or a need for more creative freedom.

As a redirection, Queen of Wands could symbolise a need to:

    • Check your current habits and behaviours and make necessary changes to ensure you are looking after your emotional world in equal measure

    • Follow and listen to both your intuition and instinctual gut feelings

    • Take a step back and apply a softer approach to your leadership role

    • Notice your temper and take actions to control impulsive emotions in order to regain order

    Wands Tarot Meanings Wands

    Wands

The wands are the tool of the Tarot deck, they help us to manifest and create. They also offer us immense power and help us to make our passions a reality.

With the wands comes a great deal of responsibility also. We have to make sure that we are directing its power into the right areas or face the chance of destruction. Too much wand energy can get out of control and cause us to feel powerless. We see this in the Ten of Wands, where the immense power we have collected threatens to consume us.

Queen of Wands Tarot Meanings - Elemental

    Fire + Water

The wands are the element of fire, meaning they inherit the properties of the element of fire in its meanings. The queens in the Tarot have the element of water. This means with the Queen of Wands, we have the primary elemental energy of fire, and the secondary energy of water.

In order to understand what this elemental combination means for the Queen of Wands we have to think about how the two interact. For example, fire can cause water to boil, or it can create a gentle simmer. It depends on how the fire is handled as to which results you will get.

    Queens Tarot Meanings

    Queens

The Queens in the Tarot deck provide a nurturing and compassionate energy to their suit. They are emotional and intuitive and apply those properties to how their suit works.

For the Queen of Wands, we have a nurturer of passion, power, creativity and manifestation. The Queen of Wands believes that you can create anything your heart desires. She’s your biggest cheerleader, but her fiery nature can also cause her to be somewhat pushy. She wants to encourage you to dream bigger, but this can sometimes come across as having high expectations.

    MINOR ARCANA

    Knight of Wands Tarot Meanings

The Knight of Wands, a bit like the Knight of Swords, loves to act first and think later. Often this can lead to easily avoided mistakes, but it can also be exactly what’s needed, especially if you’re prone to overthinking things before taking action. The Knight of Wands is the fire energy of fire, it is the action of action, power of power, so it’s a very impulsive and heated card to pull.

This extreme firey energy often leads us to push boundaries and challenge authority. We have an inflated sense of confidence that propels us forward and dispels any fear or hesitation we may have normally had.

Knight of Wands Tarot Meanings - Passion
    Knight of Wands Tarot Meanings
Knight of Wands Tarot Meanings - Impulse

    Knight of Wands Upright Meanings

In the upright position, the Knight of Wands is all about feeling the full strength of your own power and using it to really drive yourself forward and embrace your biggest passions. Some of the key meanings of the Knight of Wands are:

    • Pushing boundaries

    • Challenging authority

    • Embracing Passion

You can see from these three main properties that the Knight of Wands is not someone to be messed with. If he was a real person he may be called fiery, difficult, or opinionated. Knights are the teen or young adult energy of the Tarot, so when you team that with this fire energy, you get someone that is very passionate, has a big ego, and not a lot of fear.

    Knight of Wands Reversed Meanings

In the reversed position, the Knight of Wands allows that fiery nature to get the best of him, leading to recklessness and sometimes selfishness. Some of the main reversed meanings of the Knight of Wands are:

    • Impulsive decisions

    • Lack of accountability

    • Selfishness

    • Narcissistic

The term ‘cocksure’ is a good word to use for the Knight of Wands in reverse. There’s being passionate and then there’s arrogance, the Knight of Wands in reversed is arrogant. He is so fired up that a lot of the time he doesn’t even see when his actions are inappropriate or negatively affecting others.

Reading Knight of Wands in a Tarot Spread

When the Knight of Wands appears in a spread, it’s important to keep an open mind. Although a lot of his qualities may seem hard to control, in some circumstances a bit of overconfidence is exactly what we need in order to tackle a situation. Try and determine how this extreme fiery energy could affect the other cards that are in the spread, see where there may be conflict and where there is harmony. That will help you to determine whether the Knight of Wands is a welcome card or one to be wary of.

Knight of Wands as An Invitation

When the Knight of Wands shows up as an invitation, we’re asked to review our actions, to see whether they were justified or whether we need to be held accountable.

For Knight of Wands, this invitation could be the following:

    • An invitation to see how your actions have affected others, if at all

    • An invitation to challenge the status quo

    • An invitation to embrace the thing you feel most passionate about right now

    • An invitation to see how far you can push set boundaries

Knight of Wands as Sage Advice

The Knight of Wands has a similar message to that of the Page of Wands, only it has matured slightly. We are again asked to embrace this fiery energy, but we are now mature enough to understand how our actions have consequences and they aren’t always positive.

Some advice Knight of Wands may offer is:

    • Don’t just take things as they are, challenge thoughts and opinions that seem outdated or unethical

    • Hold yourself accountable instead of running from your mistakes

    • Be mindful of how your actions could be seen as selfish or arrogant

Knight of Wands as a Lesson

A lot of the lessons we are offered with the Knight of Wands include a level of failure or teething problems. The knights are the ‘teen’ energy and we all know how awkward and embarrassing the teenage period of our lives can be. A lot of what we learn is through trial and error.

Some lessons that Knight of Wands may offer you are:

    • A lesson in the difference between arrogance and confidence

    • A lesson in knowing when something should be challenged and when something should be debated

    • A lesson in accountability and holding yourself accountable for your own actions

    • A lesson in knowing where your boundaries lie and when to push them a little further

Knight of Wands as a Redirection

When the Knight of Wands comes in as a redirection, it’ll be a fairly quick turnaround that might even leave you feeling a bit displaced. Often this card as a redirection comes in to encourage us to be more forceful or check our passions that are out of control.

As a redirection, Knight of Wands could symbolise a need to:

    • Stop allowing people to take advantage of you and stand up for your beliefs

    • Take a less selfish approach to the situation

    • Stop second-guessing yourself and throw yourself into the deep end

    • Act impulsively / not act impulsively (depends on the context of the card)

    Wands Tarot Meanings Wands

    Wands

The wands are our passion and power. They are the tool we use to make our ideas and impulses come to life in the external world. However, wielding a wand comes with a great deal of responsibility and we need to be careful what we wish for.

In terms of the Knight of Wands, the wand is being thoughtlessly wielded. The Knight of Wands is seen as the purest form of impulse, no thinking and only action. In some cases this might be needed, but in most cases it can lead to careless mistakes.

Knight of Wands Tarot Meanings - Elemental

    Fire + Fire

The wands are the element of fire within the Tarot and the Knights are the element of fire in the Court Cards. This means that the Knight of Wands has double fire energy.

Having so much heat can be a great tool for creation. If you apply it literally, intense heat can create glass, can form pottery, can cook or help with scientific discoveries. It can also burn, destroy and bring about endings if not properly controlled and managed. The same can be said for the energy of the Knight of Wands.

    Knights Tarot Meanings

    Knights

The Knights are the soldiers of the Tarot. They are ready to fight for a cause, the cause usually being the properties of its suit. In terms of the Knight of Wands, this Knight tends to be the wild card, it is the the guy that goes rogue on team missions.

The Knight of Wands acts purely on impulse. Sometimes these impulses stem from valid intentions, sometimes they are fleeting moments of passion and desire. The Knight of Wands needs leadership in order to channel its energy into the right areas.

    MINOR ARCANA

    Page of Wands Tarot Meanings

The Page of Wands is the moment we realise the power we hold within ourselves, how we can create our own reality, take actions to have real-life experiences, and ultimately be in control of how our days and lives turn out. There is an openness, just like we find in the other Page cards, that means we welcome experimentation, stepping out of our comfort zones, and discovering more than we originally thought possible.

The Page of Wands is all about new adventures and approaching a new journey with an open mind and willing heart. You’re willing to do what is needed in order to get started and keep moving forwards. Remember that the Page’s are the novices of the Tarot deck. They are still learning about their suit and how to use the energy they have been gifted. The Page of Wands is no different.

Page of Wands Tarot Meanings Wonder
    Page of Wands Tarot Meanings
Page of Wands Tarot Meanings Enthusiasm

    Page of Wands Upright Meanings

In the upright position, the Page of Wands holds a lot of creativity and potential. It’s a card that is open to trying new things and going with the flow. If things don’t work out, then the Page of Wands sees it as a valuable lesson and keeps pushing forward regardless. Some of the key meanings of the Page of Wands are:

    • Creative discovery

    • New adventures

    • Identifying boundaries

    • Experimentation

With the court cards, it can help to think about them as people, with the pages being the children of the court card family. With that image in mind, the Page of Wands is the period of childhood where we start to look for our own independence, trying to form our own unique identity and take control of our own lives. We create boundaries, we express our creativity, we try new things to see what we like and what we don’t like. We take action to mould ourselves as human beings.

    Page of Wands Reversed Meanings

In the reversed position, the Page of Wands takes that childish energy we talked about above and adds in all the worries and fears we usually have at a young age when trying to form our identity. Some of the main reversed meanings of the Page of Wands are:

    • Limited creativity

    • Comfort zone

    • Playing it safe

    • Fear of failure

With the upright Page of Wands, we talked about the idea of being a child and running around trying new things and having new experiences, in the reversed position, the opposite is true. This time, that wild child turns into one that craves safety in all areas, from emotional to physical. They block their own instincts in order to avoid change or growth.

Reading Page of Wands in a Tarot Spread

The Page of Wands, like the other court cards, is best read as an approach or mindset towards the other cards in the spread. For example, if we had both the Page of Wands and The Tower, it may be that we need to keep ourselves open to big structural changes and be able to accept new experiences and ideas that may come up because of this.

All the pages in the Tarot are foundational energy, they have a freshness and youth to them that the other court cards have. Like we touched on above, the pages are the children of the court cards, so channel that inner child whenever they come up in a spread, especially with the Page of Wands.

Page of Wands as An Invitation

When the Page of Wands shows up as an invitation, it usually asks us to try something new and be flexible to sudden changes that may occur.

For Page of Wands, this invitation could be the following:

    • An invitation to put yourself in a position to try something new

    • An invitation to question the actions we’ve taken previously and what we could do differently this time around

    • An invitation to review your boundaries and make changes where needed

    • An invitation to step out of your comfort zone

Page of Wands as Sage Advice

The Page of Wands reminds us what it’s like to be a carefree youth, to not worry about what others think and just do whatever we feel like doing at that moment.

Some advice Page of Wands may offer is:

    • Stop worrying what others will think and follow your gut

    • Not doing something because you are afraid to fail is already a failure

    • Always make time for some creative freedom, allow your imagination to run wild

    • Set your own boundaries and don’t let others dictate how you spend your time and energy

Page of Wands as a Lesson

With the Page of Wands being novice energy, there are a lot of lessons we can learn from this card, however, because it’s also a Page card, there may also be lessons we need to re-learn.

Some lessons that Page of Wands may offer you are:

    • A lesson in allowing yourself complete creative freedom

    • A lesson in knowing where your boundaries are and not being afraid to set new ones where necessary

    • A lesson in knowing how to break out of your comfort zone in a compassionate way

    • A lesson in when to play it safe and when to take risks

Page of Wands as a Redirection

If the Page of Wands pops up to redirect you, it may be that you need to get back to basics within the realm of personal power, action and instinct.

As a redirection, Page of Wands could symbolise a need to:

    • Focus on pushing your own boundaries and opening yourself up to new experiences more

    • Tread carefully, especially if you’ve been powering through without giving yourself much time to absorb what’s going on

    • A need to let go of control a little more and follow your instincts rather than your mind

    Wands Tarot Meanings Wands

    Wands

The wands are the rulers of our passions, power, action and creativity. They are the unseen force that pushes us to take action, to act impulsively or take a risk.

The wands are a tool, which means they are a very active energy, opposed to the more passive energies of the cups and the swords. How we use this tool is down to us. In terms of the Page of Wands, we are gifted this tool with little knowledge of what to do with it. In many Tarot decks, the Page is seen holding a staff rather than a wand. This staff will slowly be whittled down into a wand the more the Page learns to use it.

Page of Wands Tarot Meanings - Elemental

    Fire + Earth

All the Tarot suits correspond to an element, the wands are the element of fire. However, when we get to the Court Cards, we also have elements that are assigned to the status of the card. For pages, we have the element of earth.

The suits element is always the most prominent, with the pages, knights, queens and kings having their own secondary energies. This means that the Page of Wands is often known as the earth of fire. It is a card that offers some grounding to the fiery energy of the wands. It’s about starting from the ground up in the realm of wands.

    Pages Tarot Meanings

    Pages

The Pages in Tarot are seen as the novice energy. They are young, have little knowledge or understanding, but are ready and willing to get stuck in and learn as much as they can.

With the Page of Wands, it is a card about learning to wield power, learning to manifest and also analysing actions and impulses. A good way to think of the Page of Wands is to think about how it feels to have a go at something new. Maybe learning to paint for the first time, or going rock climbing for the first time. You give it a go but accept that you will make a wrong step from time to time due to your novice status.

    MINOR ARCANA

    Ten of Wands Tarot Meanings

The Ten of Wands is the last few steps to get us to where we want to be and can often indicate a need for a helping hand so that we can reach the finish line. Often this card can come up when we are carrying more than we need to and shows us how we can benefit from asking for a little bit of help and support, either from others or from external energy.

The Ten of Wands is our final card within the wands and holds all the experience we’ve collected along the way, hence the big bundle of wands. This card leads right after the exhaustion of the Nine of Wands, so this card can be seen as a very empowering card, showing how we overcame those obstacles in order to persevere and achieve what we always planned to achieve.

Ten of Wands Tarot Meanings Burden
    Ten of Wands Tarot Meanings
Ten of Wands Tarot Meanings Stress

    Ten of Wands Upright Meanings

In the upright position, the Ten of Wands shows our full potential, it reminds us of what we are truly capable of and asks us to keep that in mind for future journeys. Some of the key meanings of the Ten of Wands are:

    • Full potential

    • Powerful

    • Priorities

    • Wisdom

    • Need assistance

I always like to use a bit of visualisation when this card comes up, seeing myself trying to carry all those wands to the small town we see in the distance on the Rider Waite-Smith Tarot deck. I think about how hard it is to do, what could make it easier, and all the things I’ve learned as I’ve collected all those wands.

    Ten of Wands Reversed Meanings

In the reversed position, the Ten of Wands represents the struggle, the burnout and the heaviness of having to carry all those wands ourselves. Some of the main reversed meanings of the Ten of Wands are:

    • Burnout

    • Lack of progress

    • Responsibility

    • Burden

    • Struggle

I see this card come up a lot when I’m reading for business owners and entrepreneurs because we are more likely to have this ‘I’ll do it myself’ kind of mentality. Although when we do tasks ourselves we have more control over the outcome, we can also jeopardize the quality of the job at hand. The Ten of Wands reversed perfectly represents this idea of spreading yourself too thin and not getting as far as you could if you asked for help or paced yourself better.

Reading Ten of Wands in a Tarot Spread

When the Ten of Wands appears it can either be a sign to push that last little bit in order to achieve your goal, or it can be a sign that you won’t make it on your own. The tens in the tarot often represent the completion and celebration of reaching the end of that suit, so with the Ten of Wands, it’s about how we can round off this wands journey in the best way possible. It may be that in order to really close this wand chapter we have to accept that we need support.

Asking for help or admitting to yourself that you’ve taken on too much can be daunting and often feels more like a failure than an actual failure. It’s in these times that we have to remind ourselves that we’re only human and everyone has limitations.

Ten of Wands as An Invitation

As an invitation, the Ten of Wands asks us to look at how we can relieve some of the pressure, what new routes we could take to make this next section of our journey a lighter one.

For Ten of Wands, this invitation could be the following:

    • An invitation to explore your full potential and see where it could take you

    • An invitation to assess why you’re not making as much progress as you thought you would

    • An invitation to look at areas where you struggle and how you could make them easier for yourself

Ten of Wands as Sage Advice

The Ten of Wands advice centres on responsibility and prioritisation. It is a card that reminds us to look at the bigger picture and compartmentalize our energy so that we can sustain it for longer.

Some advice Ten of Wands may offer is:

    • Stop trying to give everything your all, choose the highest priority tasks and give them all your focus in order to make them a success

    • You are capable of more than you are giving yourself credit for

    • There is a difference between struggling on because something is difficult and struggling on in order to make yourself a martyr

Ten of Wands as a Lesson

As a lesson, the Ten of Wands can be a reminder of our limitations and also the things that are in our power. It teaches us to pick our battles and hone our focus so that we don’t spread our energy too thinly.

Some lessons that Ten of Wands may offer you are:

    • A lesson in prioritisation and knowing what to put first

    • A lesson in understanding what your responsibilities are and what they require from you

    • A lesson in asking for help when we need it

    • A lesson in our full potential and what we can achieve if we have the right strategy

Ten of Wands as a Redirection

If the Ten of Wands comes up as a redirection then something has to give. We’ve been trying to carry too heavy a load for one person and we need to now figure out how to spread some of that burden in order to finally achieve success.

As a redirection, Ten of Wands could symbolise a need to:

    • Share the burden instead of struggling to carry it alone

    • Embrace your personal power in order to push through external barriers

    • Try a different plan of attack when things feel stagnant

    Wands Tarot Meanings Wands

    Wands

The wands are our Tarot tool, we see The Magician wielding it in the major arcana and now we are gifted it to do as we see fit. The wands direct us to look at our sense of power, what we desire and our passions. They also help motivate us into action and push us forward.

With the Ten of Wands however, we’re being weighed down by the responsibility, we are struggling with the power that we’ve collected and we need to find a way to ease some of the pressure.

    Wands Tarot Meanings Fire

    Fire

The wands corresponds with the element of fire. This means it adopts a lot of the traits and properties of fire. This includes burning hot, bright but fast or burning at a slow smoulder. It can also offer endless possibility for creation, but chaos and destruction in equal measure.

With the element of fire, we have to direct the energy into the right areas to avoid things spiralling out of control. Making impulsive decisions falls into this, as well as acts of passion.

The Wheel of Fortune Tarot Meanings Ten

    Tens

The number ten in the minor arcana, is the finish line, it is the end of this suit’s cycle. In numerology, the number ten is a number of completion.

The number ten can also be reduced down to its single digit number, which is the number one (1+0=1) which is the number of creation. Another way to think of the number ten is by seeing how the two digits within the number could work together. In this case, we have the creative number one working with the endless possibilities of the number of zero.

    MINOR ARCANA

    Nine of Wands Tarot Meanings

With the Nine of Wands, we’re encouraged to make that final push, to muster up that little bit of energy we have left and really drive ourselves forward. It will probably take some inner strength and mental resilience, but it will help you to get that step closer to the finish line.

With the Nine of Wands being the penultimate card of the wands suit, it symbolises a lot of experience and wisdom. We’ve been through it by this point and we’ve learned a lot along the way. Now we have to take all those skills and put them to use so we can finally reach our goal.

    Nine of Wands Upright Meanings

In the upright position, the Nine of Wands is a card of encouragement and support, it wants to give us that last little bit of motivation we need to make that final push forwards. Some of the key meanings of the Nine of Wands are:

    • Pushing on

    • Exhaustion

    • Confidence

    • Experience

    • Expertise

By this point, we’ve been through a lot of ups and downs within the wands and we may be feeling a little beaten up and exhausted. What the Nine of Wands does is show us that we’re close to reaching our goal and if we can just muster up a little more strength we’ll be able to finally achieve what we’ve been working so hard for.

    Nine of Wands Reversed Meanings

In the reversed position, the Nine of Wands shows defeat, it has no more left to give, no gas left in the tank. This doesn’t always mean giving up though, it can also mean that we need to take a pause and rest up until we feel ready to get back on the horse. Some of the main reversed meanings of the Nine of Wands are:

    • Giving up

    • Defeat

    • Defensive

    • No energy

    • Hesitant

The wands suit can be a heavy suit to work through, it demands a lot of energy and perseverance, so if you do feel like you have nothing left to give, it’s important to not give in to defeat and instead learn to rest and recharge ready to come back stronger.

Reading Nine of Wands in a Tarot Spread

The Nine of Wands is one of those cards that when it comes up people think they’re about to get put through the wringer, but in fact, it’s more of a pre-warning that energy may be running a little low and you need to take action to prevent a complete burnout. Tarot is a tool for self-care and self-preservation, so when the Nine of Wands appears don’t see it as a bad omen, see it as a gentle reminder that we need to take better care of our wellbeing so we can sustain high levels of power and motivation.

If you’re using the Rider Waite-Smith deck, imagine you have to find a way around that wall of wands and that the wand the figure is holding is that last little bit of energy you have to give and see how it supports you to overcome this challenge.

Nine of Wands as An Invitation

When the Nine of Wands shows up as an invitation it’s an invitation to take a breather, to collect yourself and decide your next move. This could be a decision to take a brief pause or to keep pushing on to reach that end goal you’ve been working towards.

For Nine of Wands, this invitation could be the following:

    • An invitation to remind yourself of how far you’ve come and how close you are to the final destination

    • An invitation to acknowledge exhaustion and decide whether you are able to continue

    • An invitation to collect all your experience in order to overcome this next challenge

    • An invitation to assess why you may be hesitating from taking the next step along your journey

Nine of Wands as Sage Advice

The advice that the Nine of Wands often offers revolves around reminding you of your own strengths and capabilities. It also helps to guide you to the best solution that not only solves the problem at hand but does so in a mindful and compassionate way.

Some advice Nine of Wands may offer is:

    • Decide how much you have left to give, you know yourself better than anyone and only you can decide whether you push on or take a rest

    • Never give up, rest up for as long as you need and then continue where you left off

    • Remember how much you’ve been through and what you’ve learned in order to get to where you are. All those things are your proof that you are capable of achieving whatever you put your mind to

Nine of Wands as a Lesson

As a lesson, the Nine of Wands teaches us a lot about resilience, determination and perseverance. Themes that we’ve seen touched on a lot along our wands journey.

Some lessons that Nine of Wands may offer you are:

    • A lesson in pushing yourself further than your conscious mind thought possible

    • A lesson in pushing yourself but also remaining mindful of your wellbeing

    • A lesson in acknowledging your own expertise and allowing it to support you when taking risks and trying to reach bigger and better goals

    • A lesson in identifying the root cause of hesitancy and procrastination

Nine of Wands as a Redirection

When the Nine of Wands shows up to redirect you, it usually means that you’ve been pushing yourself too much for too long. You didn’t make sustainable choices along the way and now you’ve used all the energy you had stored up.

As a redirection, Nine of Wands could symbolise a need to:

    • Take time out to regroup, recharge and rest, so that you can continue on

    • Walk away from an uphill battle that isn’t going anywhere

    • Embrace the confidence you have deep in your gut and allow it to motivate you

    • Not see this as a defeat but as a lesson in paths that don’t work for you and your goals

    Wands Tarot Meanings Wands

    Wands

The wands are the suit that directs us to look at our actions, our passions and what fuels us. They are our motivations and the fire in the pit of our stomach. They help us to take action on decisions, make ideas into reality and take a stand when challenged.

The wands are a tool that we can wield to do our bidding. Like how you can’t hammer a nail without a hammer, you can’t get s**t done without the wands.

    Wands Tarot Meanings Fire

    Fire

All of the Tarot suits are linked with one of the four elements. The wands have the element of fire. This means that the wands adopt all the traits and behaviours we associate with fire.

These fiery traits help us understand both sides of the wands. One side is the ability to create and manifest and the other side offers destruction and chaos. Which one you get depends on the other cards in your spread or even just your perspective on your wand card.

    The Hermit Tarot Meanings Nine

    Nines

The minor arcana suits run from Ace to Ten, so the number nine signifies that last little stretch before the finish line. We then apply that to the suit and we get the meaning of our card.

The Nine of Wands is a card that symbolises the struggle we often feel when we’ve nearly finished a long task. A great example is when you’re out on a run and you know you only have five more minutes before you cool down, and those five minutes feel like five hours. It’s a struggle, but one that you can get through if you can push through mentally.
