In this lesson, we’re going to take our first dive into the world of the Tarot and start learning the meanings of the Major Arcana cards, from The Fool to The Chariot.
Remember, take it slow. Your brain can only process so much information at once. If you try and rush through these lessons you won’t learn Tarot quicker. In fact, you’ll be less likely to read Tarot than someone who takes the lessons slowly.
The Major Arcana refers to the first 22 cards you’ll find in a traditional Tarot deck such as the Rider Waite deck. These cards reflect the Major life lessons and themes that all humans experience. It is a cycle of cards, meaning you start with The Fool and move through each of the Major Arcana card by card until you reach The World, in which case a new cycle begins and once again we become The Fool.
We can jump around the cards in a non-chronological order, but it can be helpful to know the general order the Majors fall into to give us a better idea of where we find ourselves within a wider cycle.
